Prompt 02: 🔍 Un-accomplished Hope and Fear

Hello! It’s day two, and we have a serious prompt to address. So, let’s get started 🙂

P.S. I use prompts from The Journal Prompt newsletters since I enjoy reading them!

“Never let the fear of striking out get in your way.” – Babe Ruth

When I failed 11th grade, I feared that I would never be successful in my life. It was a huge blow to me and my family. I suffered terribly from depression and was diagnosed with it. I hated the school and surroundings I was in, and I only found my safe haven in books and creativity. Fast forward to today, and I am living my life, having overcome the darkest phase!

Had I not been afraid of failure or concerned about others’ opinions, I likely would have chosen different subjects to study that genuinely brought me joy (which I eventually did in college, so yay!) Fearing the outcome has taken more joy out of me than anything else, to be honest. This is to the extent that I struggle with completing random tasks simply because I am uncertain about what to do next. I think my mindset has clearly changed a lot since I got married and took up 18 weeks of intense marathon training this year. Challenges like these are bound to transform you drastically!

What’s your greatest fear that has never happened? Comment below or share a link to your post for me to see and give you a shoutout!

Thank you so much for reading this post. Cheers!
