Prompt 11: Life Events

Did I tell you I’ve taken up running and am now following Hal Higdon’s Marathon Novice 1 training plan? My goal is to rise at 6:00 a.m., knock out my workouts first thing, and stick with it until I’ve completed the plan. Despite not being a morning person, a recent argument with my husband about how my poor time management was affecting my productivity made me commit to this new routine. Waking up early is a tough mental shift for a night owl like me, but after managing it for the past two days, it’s not as terrible as I thought. What really helps is drinking a glass of water right after I wake up and keeping my alarm out of reach, so I have to get up to turn it off. Plus, I make sure to be in bed by 10:30 p.m.—no exceptions. I will probably add ice rolling to my face just to shock myself out of grumpiness!
