Hey there! So, as I was quickly browsing through “How to lose 20 kilos in 90 days,” I should tell you, I’ve put on a ton of weight in the past 6 months. Ever since I moved to the USA, my eating habits, daily routine, and overall well-being has taken a hit because of the sudden change. Even though I’ve been giving new exercises a shot, I haven’t been successful in sticking to anything for the long term. Either I feel super tired or I end up sleeping in too late. I also tend to binge eat, eat outside and stress about things that are out of my control. (I mean who doesn’t, right?)
With only six months left in 2023, I’ve decided to lose my extra weight and reach a healthy body mass index (BMI). At the moment, my BMI is 33, which classifies me as overweight. This is quite different from my regular weight, especially since I’m 5’3″ and on the heavier side. You could say I’m now short and stout!
Now, I have to confess that I usually face a difficult time around day 15 or 16. During this time, I feel sore and don’t have the motivation to continue – so I pretty much give up.
However, I have created a strategy to confront this challenge directly (credits to my infinite unsuccessful attempts in the past):
- I’ll be alternating between following the HP12Weeks 3.0 program and practicing YogaWithAdriene. Sundays are dedicated to rest and relaxation.
- Continue practicing meditation for 10-15 mins after every workout session.
- I will focus on increasing my protein intake and making sure to stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
- Every 15 days, I’ll diligently record my weight to track my progress.
- During my menstrual cycle, I’ll allow myself three rest days without any guilt.
- Nurturing my body with nutritious food will be a priority, so I’ll aim for smaller portions.
- To save time and stay on track, I’ll try batch cooking and meal prepping.
- Instead of overthinking things, I’ll simply show up and put in the effort.
- Getting enough sleep is crucial, so I’ll make it a habit to hit the bed by 10:30 pm at the latest. (This is the toughest – I swear!)
- I’ll workout at 8:30 am, Monday to Saturday every week.
- I will try not to get lost in tracking minute details and focus on completing the task. Simplicity at its best.
By using these plans, I hope to achieve my goals for losing weight and improving my health and confidence.

I believe the answer is to find an appropriate outlet.
