Growing up primarily as a night owl, getting a good night’s sleep has been quite a journey for me, to be honest. I also have very vivid dreams frequently, so even if I get some sleep, I wake up feeling groggy and tired many times (ADHD much?!)
What has honestly changed my sleep quality is strength training consistently and having magnesium glycinate. I mostly ran and focused on cardio, which made it harder for me to shut down my brain. But somehow, consistently starting strength training this year has honestly made me sleep like a log. The tired muscles and good hormones flowing after a solid lifting session make me sleep so deeply at night. It has been a blessing in disguise. I believe that working out consistently has improved my sleep, mental health, and physical well-being like magic.
