I am so excited! In today’s post, I have pestered my best friend to send in his thoughts about a book which he recently got on his birthday. This is his take on why you should read Maus—a graphic novel by American cartoonist, Art Spiegelman. Now without any further blabbering, let’s dive in!
Trigger Warning: This post discusses holocaust and racism.
Ever thought how a confession can turn your life around? Especially when you write it in a notebook and hand it over for a stranger to write theirs and pass on? This book is pretty much right when it boasts as the “feel-good book of the year” with flawed but lovable characters. Here is why you should pick this for your next read.
With the second half of the year beginning, we all by now are somewhat dealing with the entire situation in a meh manner. By meh, I mean, nobody knows when will things get back to normal! When can we go to different places for a vacation, or eat outside, or go back to the office. However, this extended time has also tested so many qualities in us. Thankfully, this hasn’t slowed down my reading of books (or buying, more precisely). In this post, I have included books that are set or are originated in different countries. So here are 5 most recent additions to my TBR pile for you to check out. Let’s get reading!
One of my resolutions this year was to build the habit of reading multiple books at a time to quickly go through my TBR pile. I love reading books (no surprises there) but reading many books at the same time was not a method that I had adopted previously. However, I am open to experimenting and understanding what my style of reading is and here are my top tips to know before you jump into reading more than one book. ¡Ahí vamos!
Why on earth did I not come across this story before? I am subscribed to 8 webcomics on Webtoon and stumbling upon Heartstopperwas purely by chance. I have seen the books on Goodreads and Amazon but never guessed that it was freely available on Webtoon. I started reading and couldn’t stop until I reached the end of Volume 3 within 24 hours.
Confession – I might’ve read these comics during my office hours (don’t judge me!)
I honestly did not expect this book would so entertaining! It has murder, dark humour, sarcasm, touches on grim issues but still makes you turn the pages as quickly as possible without losing the way. Let me explain why you should pick this book for your next read—so here we go!
